Years ago, this room served as "The Forge in the Forest Blacksmith Shop" for artist and master blacksmith, Francis Whitaker, who used it to produce much of the fine hand-wrought iron pieces that you will find on many of Carmel's historic buildings. Mr. Whitaker's anvil, vise and hearth are still the centerpieces of this room. Now, the Forge Saloon, with its unique copper walls, brick floor and hand carved mahogany back bar is a favorite locals' gathering point.
